Accuracy of Information
Record custodians may revise fees, office hours, addresses, telephone numbers, and procedures with little notice. Court, jail, police, and Wisconsin criminal-history systems also change as new events are entered. Reasonable efforts are made to keep the Juneau County material current, but no promise is made that every detail is complete or correct at a given time. Confirm requirements with the office before traveling to Mauston, submitting a request, or paying a fee.
An Arrest Is Not a Conviction
Being arrested does not establish guilt. A prosecutor may decline, amend, or reduce an allegation, and a court may dismiss a charge or resolve it in the defendant's favor. A booking entry does not reveal the final result. Later sealing, expungement, correction, or amendment can also make an older copy misleading. Juneau County Sheriff staff handle sheriff and jail information, the Clerk of Circuit Court keeps the official court file, Wisconsin DOJ/CIB maintains state criminal-history information under Wisconsin reporting law, and Wisconsin DOC operates WI Stay Safe. Only the issuing office can provide an official or certified copy.
